I just wanted to share something my son said - he has been talking to me about a story he is writing. His character is lost in the woods and he is trying to decide how he got lost. He just said to me - “He can’t have been walking in a straight line because if he had then it would be easy to get back. You would just need to turn exactly 180 degrees to go back the way you came. Either that or keep going straight to where you want to be, because like Lao Tzu said, ‘if you do not change direction you will end up where you are heading.’ So English, Maths and China project all integrated into one sentence! How cool is that? And it shows how inspired he has been by Flexi Hub, so thank you.

Flexi Hub has been the warm and nurturing atmosphere my boys needed. It is a well held educational initiative with a variety of passionate educators who are relational both with the children and one another. The children are very happy, and any problems that arise amongst them, are handled with care and commitment. It is a warm, creative and happy place for children to thrive in a mixed aged setting.

Zoe joined when she was already 11, she is now 12 1/2. She really enjoys going!. She especially loves games, project lesson and art with art history. I believe she is the oldest child but definitely benefits from mixing with a wide age range of children for some activities.
I love the differentiated groups and having a variety of great teachers .
The fact that Zoe is wanting to stay on after Summer says it all.

Our son has been coming to Flexihub for over two years and our daughter also joined more recently. They love the creative lessons, especially singing, dance and music. Their confidence in performing has grown throughout this time too. Small groups for English, Maths and Project and a warm atmosphere make Flexihub a lovely environment for home educating families to find a little more structured education. The addition of home cooked lunches has been a real pleasure for the children too, especially on those cold winter days!

I have two sons who attend Flexi-Hub aged 11 and 8. They both have said that they absolutely love the setting and are very fond of the children, teachers and the learning environment. In the past I would ask my boys what they did at school and they would always respond by saying they did nothing. When I ask the question now I get a detailed explanation of exactly what they did and what they enjoyed. As time has passed I can see how my boys have improved academically and gained a lot more self confidence and are able to communicate effectively with children of all ages and adults. This is testament to the nurturing and learning environment that Flexi-Hub offer.

“Dear Flexi-Hub, thank you all for a wonderful term, my son has had a brilliant time; he has enjoyed his classes and made some lovely new friends. He enjoyed this term so much he didn't even want to stop for Christmas and is missing flexi-hub this week!
He has particularly loved dance, outdoor learning, journalism and sports/games, but also felt much happier in maths (his most frequent comment is that being challenged has been great!). He's also absolutely loved being part of the play and is so much more confident performing! He's enjoyed project, English, music, art and the cooking lessons too, so thank you so much!”

“I’d just like to say thank you to you for creating Flexi Hub. When our son talks about his day it just sounds so brilliant. The learning experience the children have there is so interesting, engaging, gentle and we are really grateful to have joined you.
He seems to be settling in well and is infinitely better coming to Flexi Hub than he ever was when we tried to re-enter school (despite having enjoyed his time in reception at school before).

“I would like to say the biggest heartfelt thank you to Flexi Hub who have turned our world around after a very distressing school breakdown last year. We couldn't be happier with the quality of teaching our son receives in a place he feels safe and happy in. He has made good friends and enjoys all his time there. I love the extra time we get together during the week after all we waited five & a half years to meet and get our cuddles in. While many adopted and fostered children enjoy and do well in mainstream school research suggests that many more struggle.”

"My daughter really loves and enjoys coming to Flexi Hub. She has always been enthusiastic, curious and excited about learning. We mainly take an autonomous approach and she has learned many things (e.g. reading, writing, basic maths) at home via this approach but I am so glad that she is inspired also by structured lessons (I know in schools many children can struggle with this) and her enthusiasm continues due to the inspiring and creative teachers and their gentle approach and sensitivity to the children's needs.
My daughter is very happy at Flexi Hub, loves the teachers and lessons and enjoys the social aspect of it too including the sense of familiarity - seeing friends and peers regularly and feeling the sense of belonging / being part of a group. She is quite sociable and a keen learner and I feel that Flexi Hub meets both her needs for socialising as well as learning at her own pace without any pressure to perform academically.
I love to hear about all the exciting things she has been up to and the hands on learning about the world (e.g. learning how to make paper, weaving etc). She would love to come everyday. Amazing! Thank you."

"I find that Flexi Hub is supportive to parents who would like to home educate but not necessarily do it all on their own. As a parent it has been really beautiful to watch my daughter learn and grow at her own pace through home education and maintain a sense of curiosity and wonder for life and the world around her, equally sending her to Flexi Hub has meant that she can share this curiosity and wonder with others - a sense of a community education support network. For us 16 hours a week strikes the right balance, it means we still have plenty of time to explore and learn in other ways."

We feel so blessed to have had Flexi-Hub nurture our son and support him for nearly 2 years. Flexi-Hub became the foundation for him as he redeveloped his confidence both emotionally and academically. Flexi Hub is a wonderful place for our daughter. She’s growing and thriving in a creative space with a nurturing community around her. She learns a wide variety of subjects, with lots of opportunities to be active and outdoors: just how childhood education should be. My children have attended Flexi Hub for the last year and have enjoyed it so much. When we first visited I was surprised how structured it was for an alternative setting but my children really value the structured environment, and the variety of activities and lessons on offer. They love how it is similar to a school in this way but with so much more variety and more relaxed. They have really benefited from the family feel and being part of the Flexi Hub community.
