About Us

A balanced approach to learning

We love the fact that at Flexi Hub we can be extremely flexible and creative about everything we do. We are not governed by any particular curriculum, set pedagogy, or belief system.

We understand as home educators it is your role to provide and be responsible for your child’s education. We offer a variety of lessons to enhance and contribute to each child’s individual home educational journey.

Our mission is to make learning exciting, embracive, engaging, inspiring, thought provoking, adaptable, fun, passionate, professional and most importantly, happy.

At Flexi Hub we believe in a balanced approach to learning that equally involves the mind, the body and the soul. We recognise the importance of helping children progress in their core academic skills as well as flowering in their creative, practical, physical and social development.

Human scale

Our small and intimate learning groups at Flexi Hub allow us to really see the individual in each child. With this we can ensure that each child is valued and every aspect of their growing self is explored, supported and recognised.

We do not test the children at Flexi Hub, or place unnecessary pressure on them. We recognise the importance of getting the balance right between nurture and challenge for each individual. Our teachers are free to work creatively and to each bring their own talents and expertise to our team and community. We love this freedom and celebrate the diversity of everybody who is part of the Flexi Hub team.

Flexi Hub offers a range of lessons over a three day week, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, during term time.

This allows home educated children the opportunity to learn amongst friends in a small group, with our specialised and professional subject teachers.

This encourages strong social bonds and an environment where everyone can be inspired and encouraged by each others uniqueness, with the support and guidance of positive and professional adult role models.

Project based learning

Our lessons follow a termly Project theme which gives the children the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of subject matters and explore these through a diverse range of academic and creative mediums.

At the end of each term, the children will showcase their work at our Sharing Day where we invite families and friends to come and celebrate the children’s learning and accomplishments.

Get outdoors

Every week our skilled and passionate teachers run outdoor learning sessions. Here the students can enjoy the fresh air, grow plants and vegetables, learn about permaculture, wildlife, nature, botany the weather and the seasons, create, construct craft and cook, all from natures own wonderful and miraculous resources.

Visual and performing arts

At Flexi Hub we value and place emphasis on all of the creative arts and run sessions in drawing, painting, craft, modelling, textiles, singing, music, dance and performance.

At our venue in Minchinhampton we have a large open plan space and stage area which we use on a daily basis and for special occasions.

We can express our inner feelings, thoughts, opinions and ideas with creative spontaneity and zest through these wonderful and varied mediums.

We can learn about and discover the world around us with all its rich and wondrous cultural diversity through the creative arts.

Our local community

Flexi Hub has built a strong relationship with the local community in Minchinhampton.

We make great use of the beautiful Minchinhampton Common, which is just a short walk away.

Each week our outdoor learning lesson takes place in the local primary school grounds. We have developed a strong partnership with the school where we have helped to nurture a beutiful space with willows, a fire pit, a pond and vegetable patches.

At break times and during our games lessons we have a brilliant AstroTurf and large playing field where we can play games and sports, as well as enjoy our picnics and free time outdoors.

Going to the village library is always a popular trip. Here we quietly research our project themes or take out books and audiobooks to loan.
